The town of Rokytnice nad Jizerou offers 23 kilometers of well-prepared slopes for skiers and snowboarders, located on the slopes of Lysá Mountain and the Bowl.

It is one of the largest ski complexes in this part of the Krkonoš. The ski slopes are regularly groomed and snowed if necessary. 4. Ski Area Harrachov - distance 29 km, travel time 38 min.

In nearby Harrachov, one of the largest ski resorts on the Czech side of the Krkonoš Mountains operates. The slopes are equipped with a snowmaking system, allowing skiing for five months. There are three complexes: Devil's Mountain (Čertova Hora), Zakouti, and Amalka.

At Devil's Mountain, there are four trails totaling about 6.5 km in length. The ski runs connect at certain points, allowing us to finish a more difficult red run on a gentle blue one – best for beginners. Official website https://www.skiareal.com/zima/index.php?lang=7

2. Karpacz Ski Arena - distance 15 km, travel time 25 min.

The second largest ski resort on the Polish side of the Karkonosze Mountains is located in Karpacz. In the town and surrounding area, we can take advantage of several drag lifts; however, the largest complex is situated within the Karkonosze National Park – on Kopia.

The upper station of the cable car (1340 m above sea level) is considered one of the highest ski areas in the Western Sudetes. Both skiers and snowboarders will find excellent conditions for skiing here. They can use six drag lifts and two chair lifts. The ski slopes vary in difficulty: from the easiest ones for children and beginners to black ones like Liczyrzepa, named after the legendary Spirit of the Mountains. Most of them are artificially snowed. Official website https://karpaczskiarena.pl/

The climatic conditions in this part of the Krkonoš Mountains somewhat resemble those in the Alps. When winter is sufficiently cold, snow remains on the slopes even in early spring. Due to the low sunlight on the northern slopes, skiing is still possible in April.
